Meanwhile, the 2021 RAM 2500 is offered in a wide range of trim configurations, cab styles, bed lengths, and powertrain configurations to suit your needs. Explore some key offerings of the 2021 RAM 2500 to determine whether this heavy-duty pickup truck may be right for you.
Dodge RAM 2500 Trim Levels
The RAM 2500 is available in six trim options, each differing slightly in its standard equipment. Compared to its previous 2020 model year, the notable 2021 RAM 2500 change is the addition of a “virtual” rearview mirror feature on some trim levels.
Tradesman
The base trim on the 2021 RAM 2500 is the Tradesman; even as the truck’s entry-level trim, though, it remains decently appointed with features that include air conditioning and 17-inch steel wheels for a smooth ride. On crew-cab models, this trim also comes standard with power windows and locks. Every Tradesman is also equipped with vinyl upholstery and a front bench seat configuration for extra capacity.
Big Horn
Next up is the Big Horn trim, which comes equipped with larger 18-inch steel wheels and cloth (rather than vinyl) upholstery. This model also receives some sleek chrome exterior trim accents for a sharper look and is also adorned with available remote start and an integrated trailer brake controller for added convenience.
Laramie
Stepping up to the Laramie trim on the 2021 RAM 2500 will yield you more upgrades that include lightweight alloy wheels, as well as heated front seats for added comfort. The front seats on this model are also power-adjustable, so you and your front passenger can choose one of eight possible configurations for optimal support.
Longhorn
If you’re looking for a heavy-duty pickup truck that doesn’t skimp on luxuries and creature comforts, the Longhorn trim may be right for you. This model comes with heated front and rear seats, as well as plush leather upholstery throughout and a heated steering wheel with wood accents. Up front, you and your passenger will also enjoy ventilated seats to keep cool even on warmer days. In the bed, a spray-in bed liner is also standard for added durability.
Limited
Looking to take the luxurious features up another notch? The Limited trim comes standard with 20-inch alloy wheels for a smooth and composed ride, as well as a power-deployable running board that you and your passengers will appreciate while getting into and out of this large truck.
Power Wagon
The performance-oriented Power Wagon trim comes with many of the same features as the Laramie model, but also adds a standard all-wheel-drive system and a dedicated off-road suspension. If you opt for a Crew Cab model, you’ll also enjoy an extra-large 76-inch truck bed for all your hauling needs.
2021 RAM 2500 Engine Options
The engine you’ll find under the hood of the 2021 RAM 2500 will vary based on the trim you select. Standard on most models is a motivated 64L V8 engine at 410 horsepower. However, each trim is also available with an optional turbocharged 6.7L diesel V6, which cranks out an impressive 370 horsepower with enhanced fuel economy. A four-wheel-drive system is also optional on every RAM 2500 except for the Power Wagon trim, where it comes standard.
An eight-speed automatic transmission is also standard on the 2021 RAM 2500, though a six-speed automatic takes its place on models equipped with the available turbo diesel engine.
Tech Features
Tech features included on the 2021 RAM 2500 will also depend on the trim chosen, though every model is equipped with a standard touchscreen display and Bluetooth® connectivity. On the base Tradesman trim, the touchscreen is a five-inch model. However, the Laramie steps up to a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen interface, and the Limited trim maxes out with a massive 12-inch touchscreen.
Looking for a model with standard smartphone integration? Check out the Laramie above, which comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Safety Equipment
Standard safety equipment on every 2021 RAM 2500 includes a rearview camera, airbags, and an antilock brake system. If you’re looking for more advanced safety equipment like front and rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring, you’ll need to check out the Limited trim or above. This model also comes with a unique 360-degree camera system that makes backing into (and out of) spaces easier and safer.
